2009 Fountain Square Art Fair

The 2009 Fountain Square Art Fair was a huge success! Thanks to all of the artists who participated, all of the people who came to Fountain Square, and especially to Sarah Adams and the Fountain Square Merchants Association for making this a great day in our neighborhood.

Come on down to Historic Fountain Square on Saturday, September 19th for
the best-darn-art-day in the city! Three great art events, plus Brats and Beer
at two different Octoberfesti.

Here’s the skinny:

• Fountain Square Art Fair—10:00am-6:00pm. Some of Indiana’s
  hippest artists and artisans gather for a fun and light-hearted nonjuried
  show. The entertainment Stage keeps you groovin’ all day! There will be a kid's painting station and book siging too! The Art Fair is in the parking lot at Morris and Shelby Sts. Public parking at the Teamsters on Shelby across the street from Bud’s Supermarket.
  
  
  • 60 Featured Artists including: Doug Arnholter (frescos), Andy Chen (photography), Jenny Elkins (collage), Krista Bermeo (glass jewelry)

• Masterpiece in a Day—the venerable day-long art competition turns
  13. Come see artists by the bucketful using our fair village as
  inspiration for creating art right here on the spot. Judging is in the
  late afternoon and winners get some big moolah! Many of the FSAF
  artists will be competing from their booths. Brought to you by Big Car
  Gallery.
  
  
• Wheeler Arts Community Open House—4:00pm -10:00pm. The artists
  of the Wheeler open their studios to you. Roam around the cool
  building, check out how the artists live and work, enjoy some
  yummies and brew and music!
  
  
• Octoberfesti—2 of ‘em! Deano’s Vino on the corner at the fountain will
  have theirs, complete with music beginning at 6:00. And the
  Rooftop Garden, high atop the Fountain Square Theater Building has
  theirs, complete with the best sunset views of downtown…in town!
  Come early. Stay late. Bring friends.
